The Band:

The Sublimation Orchestra, a group from Berlin consisting of 4 electric guitars, bass and drums, plays a mixture of composed and improvised music.

Founded in 2005 the formation combines elements from the jazz tradition with contemporary improvisational concepts as undogmatically as possible.

The starting point are composed pieces (see intermezzi), that sometimes become the basis for improvisations.

In the band’s live performances the calm strictness of a string quartet meets the energy of a noise-band.
